Located in Bargain Harbour near Madeira Park, Pender Harbour on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, British Columbia, Canada. The property is south facing and is situated directly across from the ocean with immediate beach access in front of the cottage. The cottage has exceptional views of the ocean, you can just sit back and relax watching the boats sail by in the sunshine. The bay holds an incredible array of sea and animal life. In the water you can see the resident seals who seek out the large populations of migrating salmon. Dolphins pass by in the open ocean and are seen quite often by boaters. This year we have seen some incredible sights such as the Orca pictures below. | Shores Cottage benefits from a wrap around covered deck which is furnished with sun chairs and an outdoor dining table as well as a gas BBQ ready for action. The ocean views are excellent from the cottage, there are many resident bald eagles in the trees surrounding the bay, these huge birds can been seen fishing in the bay or perched in the many surrounding cedar trees. Other wildlife include dear which can be seen in the gardens chewing on wild flowers or resting in a shady spot. There are great fishing opportunities for all kinds of species of ocean fish and charters are available to book locally. We have seen an abundance of wildlife this year, with White Sided Pacific Dolphins being seen regularly around the harbour and of course the amazing pictures of Orcas chasing the dolphins in front of the cottage. The beach in front of the cottage is very exciting for children to explore and beachcombe while you can relax and read a book or just sunbathe. |

The location of Bargain Bay also benefits from it's close proximity to Madeira Park which has local shops and main marina. The marina is a great place to watch the small fishing boats returning from a days fishing and is a place where you can buy fresh fish, crabs & prawns straight off the boats. The area is surrounded by beautiful lakes such as Katherine Lake, Sakinaw Lake, Hotel Lake and the popular Ruby Lake which is approx 10 minute drive away, you can hire canoes and there is a great swimming area with a sandy beach at Dan Bosch Park where the water is warm and crystal clear. The area offers golfing, hiking, incredible ocean fishing, canoe/kayak/boat rentals, restaurants, swimming and much more. Various Guided tours are available - see information links on this site. The cottage has two large bedrooms and will sleep 4 to 6 guests. Bedroom 1 has a queen size bed and two single beds. Bedroom 2 has one large double bed. Linen and bath towels are provided. The cottage comes complete with a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, cooker, microwave, fridge, coffee maker and all the necessary pots, pans, plates, cutlery etc. Equiped Cable TV / Wi Fi - Internet / DVD player / Stereo. |
